Aryadeva Study Group Erdenet

Aryadeva Study Group

A few years ago, Lama Zopa Rinpoche was requested to establish a Dharma Center in Erdenet, Mongolia’s third largest city two hour’s drive from Darkhan. Aryadeva Study Group was inaugurated at the beginning of 2011.

The Study Group is now developing with a small core of regular students and is in the process of consolidation. The Dharma program is mainly conducted by the senior students from Darkhan who regularly travel to Erdenet and lead the pujas with occasional visits from teachers. Recently, the core students engaged in an outreach project by offering 108 copies of the holy Golden Light Sutra for placement in a large Buddha Statue being constructed on the outskirts of Erdenet.

While in Mongolia, capital city Ulaanbaatar, devotees can get Dharma teaching by going to the different monasteries that are now active in the city, in the other Mongolian towns there is practically no Dharma activity at all. This is why one of FPMT Mongolia’s primary objectives is to open Dharma Centers in other cities and towns as human and financial resources permit.”
